What is Scouts BSA?
Scouts BSA is a youth program developed by the Boy Scouts of America, now welcoming both boys and girls. It is designed to offer young people the opportunity to learn essential life skills, develop leadership abilities, and foster a sense of community and service. Lily Lake Scouts BSA goes a step further by offering three distinct scouting units under one banner
Troop 46 (Boy)
Troop 46 program focuses on providing young boys with a supportive and enriching environment to develop leadership skills, character, and outdoor adventure experiences. We emphasize self-reliance and teamwork, offering a range of activities from camping and hiking to community service projects.
Troop 946 (Girl)
Troop 946 at Lily Lake is dedicated to empowering young girls by providing them with the same opportunities for adventure, personal growth, and leadership development as their male counterparts. We maintain separate troop meetings for girls while ensuring that they have access to the same resources and experiences as our Boy Scouts.
Venture Crew 46
Venture Crew 46 is designed for older scouts, both boys and girls, who seek high-adventure experiences, leadership challenges, and opportunities to explore their interests in a co-ed setting. This crew encourages personal growth and adventure on a whole new level

When and where are Troop Meetings
Troop meetings are Mondays from 7pm-8:30pm. We meet at Grace Lutheran Church located at 5N600 Hanson Rd, St. Charles, IL 60175.
Barriers for Girls in Scouts BSA
We acknowledge that there may be concerns about the integration of girls into Scouts BSA. At Lily Lake, we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all our scouts. Our Troop 946 Scouts have separate meetings while participating in the same outdoor adventures and leadership opportunities as our Boy Scouts. This approach ensures that girls can enjoy scouting while feeling comfortable and respected.
Camping and Tenting
Camping and tenting are integral parts of scouting. We teach scouts the necessary skills, including setting up tents, cooking outdoors, and navigating the wilderness. Safety is paramount, and our experienced leaders guide scouts through every step of the process, ensuring that they are well-prepared for outdoor adventures.
The Patrol System - Scout Lead, Parent Supported
Scouts at Lily Lake are organized into patrols, small groups that work together as a team. Patrols are led by scouts themselves, with the support of adult leaders. This system fosters leadership, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among our youth members. Parents play a crucial role in supporting their scouts while maintaining a strong commitment to the principles of Youth Protection Training (YPT).
Meetings - Boys and Girls Simultaneously
Our troop meetings are held concurrently, allowing boys and girls to benefit from the same curriculum and activities. While the genders meet separately, they share the same space, resources, and leadership structure, creating a sense of unity and camaraderie within the Lily Lake Scouts BSA community.
Life Skills and Self-Reliance
Scouts at Lily Lake learn essential life skills, such as meal planning, cooking for others, and working collaboratively. These skills foster self-reliance, teamwork, and personal growth, preparing scouts for success in their future endeavors.
Male Parents with Girls in Scouting
We welcome and encourage the participation of male parents with daughters in scouting. All adults involved in our scouting program are required to be registered, background checked, with Youth Protection Training (YPT), ensuring the safety and well-being of all our scouts.
